or flight, meaning running away.

What is epigenetics?

It turns out I’m extremely good at it and it comes very easily to me.
If you had a fear of snakes, however, it could have been something you’ve encountered or your ancestors have encountered before and got bitten.
I myself have no fear of snakes whatsoever since I can literally put one over my back as I have done many times before
Of course those snakes from pet owners doesn’t bite
but maybe in my family tree, nobody has been bitten by a snake before.
Once this light switch has turned on, you become more and more afraid of snakes.
I do have a slight fear of heights
I fear swimming too, but I almost drown so that is mental trauma when I was younger
I slipped into the pool, was under there for a few mins trying to get up
so that is within my generation,
not the ones before…
But it can also represent somebody in your past had a problem when they were approaching and they got in trouble for.
You start to develop this excessive fear for no reason at all.
Sometimes you might even have a fear when she’s in the bedroom, your whole body just shuts down.
This could have been something given to you in your epigenetics.
So this is no longer just a fear because of mental trauma.
But it is a fear that is created from epigenetics which almost resembles a phobia, or what they call it an irrational fear.
I had a student who was so afraid to make an approach, he had this instinct that he would get hurt from approaching
in reality, he is half Latino, but acts white
could of been epigenetics from one side of the family
however, this is only a working theory so far.

So what can you do about it?
Here are some good tips that you can start to use.
It is not what happens to you during the fear,
but what you do about it.
When the amygdala fear hits, some people have more of a fight response where they sound angrier.
Others have a freeze response.
They completely freeze up when they talk to women in general.
Other people though, that has the worst response of all is the ones who needs to run away as fast as possible.
Regardless of your responses…
They are very predictable.
Then you also have a voice telling you that this is not good and you must escape.
When you do freeze up or you want to run away, your body language starts to hunch.
Very much like Todd V, except this guy has no social skills whatsoever and hunches like crazy…
because he has no social calibrations.
By the way, you can do the opposite of hunching by sticking out your chest and standing up straight.
You can also tell your mind that everything’s gonna be OK
or is not so bad, over and over again.
Eventually you start to counter the signal to the point where you’re able to do things.
So if you find yourself being afraid in life, unable to take major risk,
perhaps you need to jam up the signal over and over.
That is not so bad.
You can remap this even at home
every steps has a new set of fears
you can even rehearse this at home until you stick out your chest, say it isn’t so bad
Eventually you will remap everything
So when you stick out your chest, you go against the signal and excuses
THE OLD WAY WORKS FOR MOST PEOPLE. WHICH IS DOING THINGS PROGRESSIVELY. LIKE WALKING PART WAY UP TO HER, PRETENDING YOU HAVE A PHONE CALL WALKING BACK.
This reduces a lot of fear
but it doesn’t remap it
you can lower it or wither it away
eventually you can do this walking past her and back until it is withered away
for one student I talked about with socio phobia, not approach anxiety
the word phobia…

This works for 99% of the people, but not that 1%
the advice above this works better.
I’ve used it for 3 students with the phobia who thought it was literally life and death fear.
